Lumeria Maui is a luxury educational retreat center and stunning oasis of tranquility that connects people with the sacred ‘aina and mystery of Maui. Lumeria is located on six magnificently landscaped ocean view acres, just outside of the seaside village of Paia on the Maui’s North Shore. The 1909 historic building was completely restored by award winning designer and author of ‘SoulSpace’ Mr. Xorin Balbes.
Lumeria’s world-class menu is sourced from Lumeria Maui’s own garden as well as local organic farms. Lumeria Maui is a place to relax, unwind and enjoy the Aloha Spirit.
All guest rooms are individually appointed with modern amenities (iPod docking stations, small refrigerators, outdoor
seating areas and feature artwork by different Maui artists) and antiques from around the world.
Teachers will set their yoga schedule, generally mornings and evenings, prior to departure. Schedules will go out with final retreat information to participating yogis.
The days are yours to explore the beach, swim, enjoy your massage or to book one of the optional excursions as listed below. Excursions and spa services can be arranged by the retreat center at no additional charge. Yoga is always optional and at your discretion.

Where will yoga take you…?
What do I need to bring?
Just the essentials! A bathing suit, sunblock, yoga clothes and your mat if you prefer to practice on your own mat. Lumeria has a fully stocked yoga room so no need to bring a mat or props.
What airport do I fly into?
Please be sure to schedule your flight arriving on February 28th into Maui (OGG) no later than 4pm. Your departure can be scheduled any time on March 4th from OGG.
Please note that check in time for Lumeria is 3pm. If you arrive earlier, they will be happy to check you in if there is a room available or hold your luggage until one comes available.
Do I need to rent a car?
Taxis and shuttles are easy to catch from the airport or from Lumeria, however, they can get expensive. In order to soak up all of the culture and lushness of Maui, a rental car is recommended.
Do I need to book any of the optional activities ahead of time?
All of the activities can be booked when you arrive in Maui; however, if there is something that you know you HAVE to try, it is always best to book early.
What is the weather like that time of year?
February weather can be very different not only day to day, but on the various sides of the island. On average, you can expect the temperature to be in the mid 70s. Highs can go into the low 80s, but it is a good idea to bring a layer for overcast or misty mornings.
However, keep in mind that if it’s cloudy on one side of the island it’s likely sunny on a different shore! Nothing on Maui is too terribly far and a cloudy morning can be a good excuse for a road-trip (ha).
Is there internet access on property?
Send photos while lying by the pool or goofing on the island … yes, there is wi-fi on property.
