Daphne Larkin
Daphne Larkin is an inspired vinyasa yoga teacher based in Nashville, Tennessee. She is known for the fluid grace of her practice and the balanced nature of her classes. Her classes are journeys in themselves infused with integrated alignment, intentional sequencing and perfectly balanced movement. Students are skillfully guided into the innate wisdom of the body in a practice that is deep, subtle and liberating.
Teaching yoga since 2001 and registered at the ERYT-500 level, Daphne’s inspiration has grown from her studies with many gifted teachers. Committed to fully immersing herself in her studies, Daphne devoted a decade-plus to traveling and studying yoga. Her most profound influence has been Prana Vinyasa founder Shiva Rea, with whom she spent more than 10 years studying and assisting around the world. From her roots in the Iyengar tradition through the many branches of vinyasa flow, Daphne’s teaching is honest, clear and subtly aware.
Through yoga, she found a path to freedom and learns to navigate change daily. From extensive work as a performing artist, a vibrant 12-year music industry career and her life’s work in yoga, she has gained invaluable knowledge about business, yoga, love, and a clear vision for the way she wants to live. Movement has always been the constant and a catalyst.
In 2004, she co-founded Sanctuary for Yoga, Body & Spirit and changed the landscape of Nashville yoga. She co-directs Sanctuary’s 200 and 300-hour teacher training programs, where she has shared her knowledge with more than 200 teachers. In 2013, she founded Girl Tribe Ventures – a forum for collaborations with inspiring women and creative works. She has created two yoga DVDs that are featured at Sanctuary and on Amazon. She leads retreats and trainings internationally and savors every moment of her home sanctuary with her wife Stephanie. You can read more about Daphne on her website here.
