Daily Downward Dog The Travel YogiImagine starting your day with yoga overlooking crystal clear blue Caribbean waters and a pristine white sand beach, tropical winds sweeping across your face and the sound of waves as you drift into a peaceful meditation. Or, spending your days with nothing on your to-do list but relaxing on the beach, napping, taking a stand-up paddle board lesson, enjoying tasty tropical drinks by the pool, exploring the island of Aruba, getting a spa treatment or watching a stunning sunset.

I am thrilled to be returning to one of the top rated beaches in the world at Manchebo Beach Resort and Spa, whose friendly staff caters to yogis with a stunning outdoor yoga pavilion overlooking the Caribbean Sea and healthy and delicious food.

A yoga retreat is truly a gift of renewal you can give yourself by taking a well deserved break to decompress, recharge, and reconnect to your bliss. Come get revitalized, immerse yourself in your yoga practice, set forth dreams, and make new friendships. Each day will beach walk viewstart with an inspirational and joyful yoga class followed by meditation and time to journal. Your afternoons are free for relaxation or to take in activities like hiking to a natural pool (by way of Boka Keto, one of the most gorgeous beaches I’ve ever seen).

Each evening we’ll reconvene for a gentle yoga and meditation session as the sun gets ready to set over the sea. If you love the beach and yoga, then this retreat is for you. All levels are welcome! Come along on a journey to feed your soul, to laugh, to be inspired, to be in awe of the natural beauty of the sea, and ultimately, to find your bliss as you dip your toes in the sand and experience the utter delight of practicing yoga on a beach.

What an amazing balance of rest, reflection, & adventure. Truly the best vacation I’ve ever taken! The joy has continued to bubble through life this week!” – Esther Lutes

What airport do I fly into?
You will be booking your flight in and out of Aruba International Airport (AUA).  Round trip transfers are included in the price of the trip on arrival and departure days only.

Do I need a passport/visa?
US citizens will need a valid passport to visit Aruba, but no visa is required at this time. Passports will need to be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry.  Aruba reserves the right to refuse entry if passports expire before the 6 month mark.

Nationals of all other countries should check travel requirements well in advance of their retreat.

What is the electrical currency/outlet in Aruba?
Aruba utilizes the same plug and voltage as the United States and Canada.  If you are coming from another part of the world, a plug adapter and/or converter may be necessary.

Is there internet access on property?
While we hope you’ll try and unplug…  but yes, there is wi-fi on property.

Do I need to bring my own mat, blocks, straps, etc?
You are welcome to bring your own mat and accessories but Manchebo has a stocked yoga facility so it's not required.

Are there bugs?
Happy is the yogi that can practice outdoors anywhere without a few bugs.  Aruba's daily breeze generally blows away pesky mosquitoes and no-see-ums, but a bug spray in your luggage won't go amiss.

Do I need to book any of the optional activities ahead of time?
All of the activities can be booked when you arrive in Aruba; however, if there is something that you know you HAVE to try, it is always best to book early.

What do I need to bring?
Think ‘amazing beach holiday’ with yoga clothes thrown in.  Aruba is a very eclectic town with the downtown area not far from our boutique hotel, so come prepared.  Your yoga mat and any accessories you use in your practice will also need to come with you.

Do I need to rent a car?
A car will be making trips to the airport (on arrival and departure days only).  However, if you want to take a longer independent day trip or plan to travel pre/post retreat, a rental car is a good option.

What is the weather like?
Aruba is blessed with steady and out-of-the-hurricane-belt weather year round.  Days will most likely be in the mid to high 80s with evenings in the mid to low 70s.  All rooms are air conditioned for your comfort and mother nature offers her own air conditioning with wind picking up generally in the afternoons.
