Mexico Mayan Riviera Yoga Retreats

Yoga Retreat Mexico :: For The Chillax/Adventure Yogi

Get ready to recharge and rejuvenate on one of our best-loved yoga vacation packages.  Our Mexico Mayan Riviera yoga retreat vibe is unique. If you’re looking for a mix of nature, culture, cuisine, and beach then this Mexican adventure is the one for you.

You’ll fly in and out of Cancun but skip the tourist hustle-and-bustle for the simple homeyness and delicious eats in the local hamlet of Puerto Morelos. This tiny beach town is home to one of the largest coral reefs in the world, a place where you can snorkel for hours or just relax on the calm beach, soaking up the rays.

This Mexican adventure is one of our most balanced yoga retreats abroad as we juggle days of adventure with beach-chillaxing. Expect to dive in cenotes, swim with sea turtles, visit the ruins of Tulum and get a taste of local Mayan culture on a seva day that brings the food and the fun.  All of this on one of our most affordable yoga retreats that’s an easy non-stop (from many US cities) flight.

Morning and evening yoga sessions keep you grounded on this yoga retreat on the Mayan Riviera in Mexico. In addition, it gives you the chance to escape the grind and find gratitude in a laid-back, warm-watered, white-sanded slice of paradise.

Everyone from my drivers to Gustavo was immediately inviting and I never once felt out of place … This was my first traveling experience and I am already looking into more trips with The Travel Yogi. I could not think of a better experience or a better way to travel.

- Samantha M.

Everything was beyond expectation. Cannot fault a thing.

Debbi was wise, kind, strong, fun and inspiring. She is all things you want in a yoga teacher.

Despite my changing email addresses three times leading up to departure (apologies)… You always tracked me down and responded with patience 🙂

- Denise A.

This was a great trip, and I would definitely consider a trip with The Travel Yogi again! Debbi was a great instructor, and the other people on the trip were great. There was a good balance of excursions and relaxation time. The food was amazing! I think that the trip is actually a pretty good deal, given that it includes most of your food, transfers, hotel, yoga, etc…and there is no planning required of the traveler!

I enjoyed the relaxation, yoga, and meeting new people.

- Kathryn M.

There was a nice balance of excursions and free time so people could do whatever they wanted during the day.

Was great to have Yayo teach the cooking class because it was simple and useful. He was very attentive to us and did a great job with his recipes and presentation.

- Jesse M.

Debbi was beyond fantastic. We had people of all levels in our retreat and she was able to accommodate everyone’s levels. She has so much knowledge and was able to share that with us. She is also just very calming and easy to be around. I very much enjoyed her as an instructor and travel companion.

The 2nd cenote which was about 30-40 minutes away with the cliff jumping was amazing.

Our guides and drivers were amazing. They really went out of their way to be customer service oriented.

- Nicole D.

It was the first vacation I’ve had in a long time where I actually felt like I had a vacation. I felt like I was on a vacation high for days after coming back. It was everything you would expect to get out of a yoga retreat and more.

JL is incredible. It was the perfect balance of PV in the mornings and chill practice in the afternoons. Couldn’t have been better.

- Tamara A.

Going to the Mayan village was a really incredible experience. It was also really neat to swim with the sea turtles.

It was a great balance of adventurous activities and plenty of leisure time. I felt challenged, relaxed, and rejuvenated at the end of the week.

U.S. citizens will need a passport to visit Mexico, but no visa is required at this time.  Passports will require at least one blank page for an entry stamp.  Entry information can change so please visit the State Department page for up to date information. Nationals of all other countries should check travel requirements well in advance of their retreat.
Please fly into the Cancun International Airport (CUN). Transfers will be arranged from the airport only.  Arrival transfers will only be offered for flights arriving between the hours of 1pm and 5pm on arrival day and flights departing between 10am and 2pm on the departure date.
Breathe easy... after a good portion of your day spent on the plane we're only going to ask you to sit still for a 30min ride.  After that you are free to run it out on the beach, dance up a storm on the rooftop deck and yoga yourself silly.
This gorgeous yoga retreat center is directly across the street from the beach. It is in a residential, less touristy, section of town and gives you the best of both worlds; a quiet street for window shopping your way into town or a white sand beach across the street for relaxing, strolling and swimming.
Absolutely.  You can be as wired, or unwired, as you'd like.
Nope, you're covered!  The yoga room has mats, towels and blocks.  Straps are the only prop you may want to bring if you use it regularly in your practice.  You are welcome to bring your own mat and yoga props, but they are not required.
Naturally! Of course, there is the warm, clear ocean, but there is also a lovely pool at the ready. And don't forget our water days as we splash down in the cenotes and snorkel with sea turtles.
No and yes. This is a vegetarian retreat center and meat is not served.  Eggs will be provided at breakfast for protein needs and some dinners may feature fish or seafood. Any dietary need or restriction can be accommodated (except adding meat...ha), provided that you notify us at least four weeks in advance.
This is a dry retreat center, so they do not sell alcohol on property and ask that it not be brought into the rooms. Those of you on a detox-delicious-food-yoga-week, rejoice! Those of you who would like to partake, never fear... there is a sweet little restaurant/bar across the street that stretches out to the beach and would be happy to help you out with a libation in your hand and your toes in the sand.
Yes!  Of course.  Once you're booked you'll receive an email with important logistical information and a link to your invoice.  You can pay any amount at any time on the invoice; you can use it as a payment plan or leave it alone until the final due date. Remember that deposits are non-refundable so, on all trips, we recommend purchasing travel insurance.
