Michelle first stumbled onto a yoga mat in 2003 at the Jivamukti Yoga School in NYC with a friend encouraging her to try yoga. She was profoundly changed by the experience.  The philosophy, chanting, asanas, and meditation brought her closer to her ‘self’ than she’d ever experienced. Michelle’s yoga journey led to explorations of many styles: Ashtanga, Bikram, Jivamukti, Vinyasa, Hatha, Yin, Sattva, Budokan, Primal Yoga, and Shadow Yoga, in which she had the privilege of apprenticing under Matt Pesendian for 3 years.

Her trainings took her across the country and around the world to the ‘Yoga Capital’ of Rishikesh, India where she completed the first Warriors of Wisdom Training with the Sattva Yoga Family.  After completing her RYT-200hr training with Joan Hyman at Yogaworks, Michelle went on to study and complete her Primal Flow Yoga training under the guidance of founder Liz Arch. In 2017 she had the pleasure of completing her Yoga for Trauma teacher training with Liz Arch & Kate Berlin (creator) of The Purple Dot Yoga Project, a non profit organization that raises awareness for domestic violence by supporting and empowering individuals affected by abuse and trauma.

Michelle draws upon her 14 years of education with incredible teachers as well as life experience to weave together dynamic classes that are playful, inspriring, and deeply grounding. Students are guided to harness the breath (prana) through flowing primal movements that cultivate qi, strength, focus, and a deep connection to ‘self’.

“Yoga can lead to deep transformation.  Every individual carries the light within and yoga is a means for uncovering that which blocks the light.”
