Experiences tend to stay with you because of where you go, or because of how you’re able to be there. What happens when you don’t have to choose?
Well, we can tell you from experience (ha) that our Peru Yoga Adventure makes it so you don’t have to. Peru as a destination is already top tier….there’s a reason it’s on so many people’s bucket lists. But traveling there with us, the how part of the equation (staying a night at the only hotel ON Machu Picchu) is what really takes this adventure over the edge.
While joining us in Peru wouldn’t be your only opportunity to visit Peru—we’d actually encourage you to go more than once. What makes our journey unique is the way you’ll experience Machu Picchu, and that window is more limited than it seems.
Let’s take a closer look.
The Inca Trail Has Its Own Timeline
There’s something undeniably special about hiking into Machu Picchu: earning that first glimpse step by step, surrounded by cloud forest, ancient ruins, and a quiet sense of anticipation.
On Day 6 of our Peru Yoga Adventure, that’s exactly what you’ll do. You’ll hike a section of the Inca Trail, passing remarkable sites like Wiñay Wayna and Chachabamba before arriving at your first unforgettable view.
Access to the trail, however, is tightly controlled, and permits sell out (very) quickly. We’re not able to hold them in advance, so once the final spot on the adventure is booked, we secure permits immediately.
Until then, availability isn’t guaranteed. If you’ve been considering it, it’s worth knowing that this part of the experience depends entirely on timing.
A Rare Way to Experience Machu Picchu
This is where the trip becomes especially distinctive.
After your first awe-filled entrance into Machu Picchu on Day 6, you won’t be heading back down the mountain like most visitors. Instead, you’ll stay overnight at the Belmond Sanctuary Lodge, the only hotel located on Machu Picchu, right at the entrance to the site.
That means no early-morning bus lines or crowds. You’ll wake up on the mountain, watch the mist lift at sunrise, and return to the citadel the next morning for a guided, unhurried exploration. It’s a completely different way to experience Machu Picchu.
While Machu Picchu itself isn’t going anywhere, this style of visiting may not last. Due to ongoing legal disputes with the Peruvian government, the lodge is expected to close permanently in February 2028. As a result, opportunities to stay overnight at the site are becoming increasingly limited.
You can always return to Peru in the future—but this particular version of the experience is time-sensitive.
Everything Else That Shapes the Journey
Machu Picchu may be the highlight, but what leads up to it is just as meaningful.
You’ll arrive in Cusco and head straight into the Sacred Valley. Your first day includes exploring the Pisac ruins and market, followed by a welcome yoga session and dinner. Bienvenida a Perú!
From there, the experience deepens. You’ll hike through Andean forests filled with native Queuñua and Chachacomo trees, visit the ancient site of Pumamarca, and explore the living history of Ollantaytambo.
You’ll share a traditional Pachamanca meal cooked in the earth and take part in a Despacho ceremony—an offering to Pachamama that carries both cultural and spiritual significance.
There’s also time spent with a local Quechua community, where you’ll learn traditional farming and weaving practices and share a meal rooted in genuine connection.
Throughout the journey, moments of movement including sunrise yoga and grounding evening flows, are balanced with moments of stillness, including a secluded sound bath in the Andes.
And then, of course, Machu Picchu: experienced not just as a destination, but as the culmination of everything that comes before it.
Ready for Peru?
This isn’t a “now or never” trip. It is, however, a “this version won’t always be available” kind of experience.
Between limited Inca Trail permits and one of the last opportunities to stay overnight at Machu Picchu, timing plays a bigger role here than it might on other trips.
If Peru has been on your list, this may be the moment to move from thinking about it to actually planning it—because while Peru will always be there, this experience won’t always look the same.
Our 2026 Peru Yoga Adventure is sold out. So if experiencing Peru with us is something you’d like to do before the experience changes, let us know. Enough raised hands and we’ll get another adventure scheduled as soon as possible.
